I remember reading a story of Bob Goff sneaking on to the set of a movie. In the book Love Does he shares about how he and a friend sneak on the set of the movie National Treasure. They can’t stay for long because if they get caught they could get in trouble. As a teenager I went to my share of Christian concerts. There were those who had back stage passes. Even though I remember once having great seats to a Steven Curtis Chapman concert I was never allowed backstage to meet him. I think that this type of thing can affect our prayer life. We feel the rejection of gatekeepers and guards of the past.
We need to remember Ephesians 3:12- “In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.” This encourages us in two ways. First, we have access to God not because of what we have done but because of what Jesus has done. He gave us the all access pass. Second, we this kind of right of entry we are silly when we don’t take advantage of it.
You are invited to the best backstage pass in the universe. Will you take advantage today of how the New Living Translation says: “we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence?”
