A prayer for the help of others

We can’t do life alone. We were not designed that way. It is also true that in order to accomplish all that God has for us we are going to need the help of others. This help can come in many forms and can almost feel life saving. It could the encouragement of friendship, it could be a peer working side by side with us on an important project.

I have found it also true that sometimes that help is needed by someone further along than I am currently. Maybe it is a mentor who gives me some advice that changes the course of my life. Maybe it is a leader that opens a door for me. How about you? Maybe it is a boss that you need some help from to go to the next level. In this short video we continue our series on short prayers that make a difference in our lives.

An important prayer in the midst of trouble

On the Christ Connection podcast I prayed through Psalm 32. One of the key principles of that Psalm it is important to build a friendship with God in good seasons so that when difficult seasons our heart is still inclined to turn to Him in prayer. This does not mean that we are going to pray long prayers in crisis. It might simply be the prayer of Peter sinking in the water, “Lord save me.”

As we continue our series on short prayers of the Bible we encounter one such prayer. King Asa needs the help of God. He is not afraid to ask for it. As you watch this short video will you turn your heart to Jesus.

Don’t give up on your blessing in prayer

We are all tempted to give up in prayer. Giving up in general is one of the great temptations of the enemy. That is why Paul encourages us to “Not give up.” So when it comes to our prayer life it is important to hang on until God answers one way or the other.

Jacob faced an important moment when he easily could have given up. He was wrestling with God. But we learn an important prayer as Jacob, “stayed in the game.” Watch this short video where I talk about this important prayer:
